SITE VISIT

Before any arranged working day, i will personally visit your premises to survey what your areas of concern are.
What is critical are any hazards that can cause injury to ourselves or the dogs. Nails for example, is always an issue.
During the survey, we will need to see all areas where rats are active and then discuss what can be done beforehand to make each area safe.
We can also offer you hire of wildlife cameras that can be left out, so that we can see exactly what is active when your not around, especially at night.
In most cases, people think that they have only a few that they can manage, but by setting a camera up, they are shocked by the numbers that they do have.

FOR FARMERS AND OTHER LAND OWNERS

TOOLS WE USE

Insurance:

We are all covered with public liability insurance through BASC (British Association for Shooting and Conservation) up to two million pound.

If you have any tools that we can use, then that would be very helpful. If not, we can supply our own where required.

Typical tools that we use are:

Shovels

Pitch forks

Smokers

Grass strimmers

Hockey sticks, which i  purchased after watching a video of some farmers mobbed by rats in a shed. I realised that they were the perfect tool, having length. lightweight and solid.

Rats can burrow under concrete so not always possible to dig them out, so instead we will use a smoker and smoke pellets that should, encourage them out.

A smoker is a two stroke strimmer or chainsaw engine which has been adapted by securing a flexible pipe to the exaust.

A grass strimmer is used to clear back any long grass in the immediate areas that will give cover to the rats and prevent them hiding.

Water is also good to use. A water supply with a hosepipe which can also be beneficial for flushing out rats.

BIGGER TOOLS

Every site or ground is different to the next.  Depending what you have, there maybe a requirement to use bigger means.

I am an experienced operator of plant and tractors so if you have any of these items on site, then it would be a big help and more productive to utilise them in digging out larger areas of ground. They can be operated by you or by myself

Examples are:

Mini Digger

Bobcat

180/360 machines

Tractors with front end loaders or Telehandler

Tractor and slurry tanker or large liquid container for flushing out ground with water.

SITE ATTENDENCE AND DEPARTURE

At the start of any meet, i will brief all the team on any conditions/instructions that you want us to follow. I can discuss this with you when we attend for a survey.

When we attend your premises, there maybe a requirement to dig holes or move items of property. What ever we do, we will always fill any holes back in, so that livestock or people can not step in to them, causing injury.

Any items that we move, will be put back where they were moved from. guaranteed.

We will also be taking photos and video of the day which we will post on our social media group.

WE WILL NEVER DISCLOSE OR INDENTIFY YOUR PREMISES.

END OF THE DAY

All dead rats that we terminate, will be collected where possible.

The odd rat may fall into a position that is not accessible, so it may have to stay in situ.

All rats will be counted for a final tally during each visit to your premises.

Large buckets or bags would be required to place the dead in to for yourselves to dispose of and not by the team.

If possible, we would appreciate, if you could supply some form of water supply to wash our boots down and also to give the dogs a good clean before their journey home.

A hose pipe would be sufficient as a minimum.

HOMEMADE TRAPS, THAT WORK.

We have and create a range of effective home made rat traps that work.

When you contract in a pest control company, all they do is place down bait boxes which get inspected on various agreed periods, either every week, fortnight or once a month. The bait  boxes become familar with rats where once one gets trapped, the others will not enter or go near, so leaving the boxes in place achieves nothing.

Our traps will catch a quantity of rats at the same time. They are known as "repeating traps". In other words, these do not trap just one rat but multiple rats over and over without having to reset the trap after one capture. Our larger traps are capable of catching up to thirty rats in one go or even more, depending on your infestation.

After each trapping, we will move the trap to another area of your property to start fresh for the next batch.

The traps do come at a cost. You can purchase them or rent them from us. They are simple but effective.

There are various options on how to manage these traps so pleae enquire to learn more.
