AIR RIFLES
As already mentioned in other parts of the site, if dogs, traps or poison are still not an option for you, then you can consider using air rifles. There are conditions that have to be met by law, to enable us to use air rifles on your property safely.

1. We must have written permission from the land owner.
2. The shooting has to remain on your land/property without the pellets straying onto someone else's land or public space.
3. We can not shoot onto your land from public property or be able to shoot from your land onto public property.
4. Any neighbours who are close by, must be made aware of our presence and intentions.
All shooting carried out will be recorded using modern day and night vision scopes. All videos will be made available to the client so you can see what happened and the total tally at the end.

The advantage using air rifles is that if a rat comes into sight, it will be terminated, guaranteed.

Charges apply to domestic shooting, so please get in touch for pricing. For properties beyond a five mile radius from our business address of SE16, a £10 travelling fee will be added for each visit.

The air rifles we use are multi-shot pre charged gas rifles. They are powered by a gas canister which can shoot over 100 shots on one charge. Pellets are loaded into a magazine that holds between 8 & 16 pellets.

Rats are intelligent creatures. Sometimes you can be successful on your first visit, other times, it could take more than one visit. Rats explore so there is no guarantee that they will be at the same spot on every visit.

Idealy, you need to have every rat terminated. If just one survives and it then finds a new mate, it begins all over again. Leaving a camera in situ after each shooting will determine whether other rats remain.
Did you read the rats life cycle on the home page? If you didnt, go back and have a look.

How a rat looks through nightvision.
There are many videos available on Youtube of pest controllers and enthusiasts who have uploaded their work.
Through night vision, they are easily seen by the shine from their eyes.
Some shooters also use thermal cameras when a rat is hiding in a bush, it could be difficult to know which side the body is sat, so they flick to thermal to identify exactly where the body heat is, then back to NV for the shot.
All of our air rifles are fitted with night scopes, that can record all shooting from start to finish. There are plenty of examples on Youtube that you can view to see how it is done along with exceptional results.

See links at the foot of this section for examples of shooting with night scopes.

Most shooting is carried out late evenings but if land is heavily infested then rats can be squeezed up and be over-populated in their burrows, so they are pushed out and can appear during the day.
Regular daytime activity is normally a sign of a large infestation.
In these circumstances, rats will move away from buildings, gardens and property and venture further out into the fields and hedgerows as well into your neighbours property/garden.

Domestic properties:
If your in a residential area where you have rats within your property, then air rifles are perfect for you but there are strict laws for how they are used on domestic property close to public land.
There are hourly charges for this service. Please enquire during the site visit.

Before any shooting, we would recommend to hire a wildlife trail camera from us, so that we can assess best times of activity to attend before any shooting takes place.
Full details under "camera & trap hire" in the main menu.
