WILDLIFE CAMERAS & TRAPS

CAMERA HIRE:

To assist in establishing your pest problems, we can offer you hire of wildlife cameras that can be set up in the areas of concern. By doing so, you can then see exactly what is prowling about and how many.

These are automatically operated by a sensor that detects any animal or human movement. When detection occurs, it will trigger the camera to record with photos and video to an SD card to be viewed later on.

Hire for each camera is for 48 hours minimum along with weekly, fortnightly and monthly hire.

Depending on your location, there would be an additional travel charge to deliver and collect.

Example of hire rates for one camera:

Deposit -           £100

48 hour -            £20

5 x day hire -     £40

1 x week -          £50

2 x weeks -         £80

1 x month-         £140

Two cameras:

If you wish to have two cameras at once to operate from different angles at the same time, then add £10 to each rate

Please Note:

All cameras are hired at the clients risk. A deposit of £100 will be required on top of the hire fee. The deposit is then returned in full when the camera is returned in full working order.

Care and positioning of the camera is crucial so that it is out of reach from others preventing it from being stolen when left in situ.

Before installing any camera, bait should be placed one or two days beforehand to entice any pest to the area. Then by installing the camera into it's position, the pest will return, knowing there is a food source and seeking further feeding, which will be captured on film.

CUSTOM BUILT REPEATING TRAPS:

If you see one rat on your property, then you should be concerned, as normally if there is one, there is always a second close by. Rats can breed at an alarming rate. If they have already nested close by, then the family can quickly expand.

If you contract in a pest control service, they will more likely place down your normal plastic bait box, which either has a poisonous block for the rat to nibble or a sprung trap that will capture and kill only one rat at a time. If you believe that you have only a couple of pests, then that may work for you but is it adequate?

A bait box will never keep up with the demand of a growing family of rats. You may only see one rat but when your asleep or away from the property, do you know how many are actively out?

The type of trap used also depends on what you have around the vicinity such as household pets and other wildlife. The above mentioned traps maybe your only option where other wildlife and pets cannot access them.

If you have domestic pets or other wildlife, poison should never be used.

Any of the above can eat a poisoned rat where they will become poisoned themselves or even take the whole block as food.

There are many videos on youtube highlighting various home made traps for mice and rats. Very easy to construct and yet very simple. Dont get excited by some videos showing a hundred rats being trapped in a short time. These rats get trapped quickly and easily as they have be starved for a few days so all they want to do is eat hence why the videos look encouraging. Some of those traps do work though but please think about them first.
